![]() I opened Google and managed to put a link to it on the desktop by sliding the little padlock in the Title bar (?) out to the desktop. Now that that is out of the way, I would like to do the same thing with a Google icon, but haven't made that work yet. Now, for some reason, and not because of anything I did on purpose, this time when I turned the laptop on and Left clicked on the "LM" in the low-left corner, a Menu opened up and it allowed me to put the "LinuxOffice Writer" icon in the taskbar simply by clicking "Add to panel" under the menu listing. When I click on the other icons at the lower left end, I get small window with something that ends in and I am not sure what that means either, although I called this post "Re: Linux 20 Cinnamon taskbar". Note: Something that I clicked on (I don't remember what) said, "LinuxMint 20 (Ulyana)", and I have no idea what that means. Thank you in advance….īy the way, it is 7:30 PM here, and I haven't even eaten yet, and I am tired, so I might not get back to this until tomorrow. Obviously I am not real good with computer stuff, but I like Linux. Above all of the next three items, the orange Firefox web browser box, the Terminal command line box, and the green File browser box, I get the same thing with a right click “About.”, “Configure.”, and “Remove ‘Grouped window list’.Īgain, after a long time of clicking on all this stuff, and trying everything I can think of, I still haven’t been able to get a Google icon in the task bar.Īny help would be appreciated, and write the instructions as if you were corresponding with a child. Above the green file to the immediate right of the “LM” I get “Show Desklets”, “About.”, “Configure.”, and “Remove ‘Show desktop’. Above the “LM” emblem on the far left, “About.”, “Configure.”, and “Remove Menu” (the three “periods” after “About” and “Configure” are literally what is there three dots). Here is a list of what shows up when I right click on the stuff at the left end of the taskbar (nothing shows up if I left click on any of them). (Note, if I right click on the taskbar “LM”, then “About.”, I get a window that says “Main Cinnamon menu”, and the Desktop looks to me like Mint 20, with an LM in a circle slanted to the left.) ![]() But once again, I am getting nowhere by myself. ![]() Anyone who has dealt with me before knows that I spend a LOT of time trying to figure this stuff out before I bother you folks. I have tried to find the answer on the Internet, but have not been successful. ![]() I just got a used laptop, HP-Pavilion g7-Notebook-PC, and want to populate the taskbar (the band across the bottom of the screen) with a few things like Goggle and Yahoo mail. ![]()
